The character of marble

Marble is natural stone with individual veining, colour movement and mineral details. Each tile or slab is different, which can give a floor, wall or feature surface a distinctive appearance. Review the actual material and agree the layout before installation, especially when matching veins or selecting several pieces.

The consistency of porcelain

Porcelain tiles are manufactured, so patterns, thickness and dimensions are generally more consistent within a product range. They are available in many designs, including stone-like patterns. The product specification determines where a particular porcelain tile can be used and how it should be installed.

Choose for the room and your priorities

Consider the desired look, available samples, traffic, moisture, maintenance expectations, budget and installation method. Marble often needs suitable sealing and stone-safe cleaning; porcelain care depends on its product and grout. Confirm slip resistance and suitability for the exact application with the supplier, and follow the manufacturer's installation instructions.
