Everyday cleaning
Dust or sweep grit from the surface, then use a soft cloth or mop with clean water and a pH-neutral cleaner recommended for natural stone. Rinse when needed and dry standing water. Avoid abrasive pads and acidic household products such as vinegar or lemon, which can dull or etch marble.
Understand sealing
A suitable impregnating sealer can reduce absorption, but it does not make marble stain-proof or prevent etching. Whether sealing is appropriate, and how often it should be repeated, depends on the stone, finish, location, product and use. Test any product on an inconspicuous area and follow the sealer manufacturer's directions.
Act quickly and ask for care advice
Blot spills instead of rubbing them, especially oils, wine and coloured liquids. Use a cleaner specifically labelled for natural stone for routine marks. For etching, stubborn stains or a polished surface that has lost its finish, consult a stone-care professional. Ask the supplier or installer for care instructions for your selected stone and finish.
